Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Patson Daka, according to the Evening Standard.
The Red Bull Salzburg striker and Zambia international scored 24 goals in 31 games in the Austrian top flight last season, as well as registering eight assists.
Daka also scored in the Champions League last season for Salzburg – the first player from his country to do so.

Just this week, the 6ft ace put in a superb display in a 10-0 friendly win over Bregenz, scoring four goals – one penalty – including two with his weaker foot.
And late last month, he netted twice in the opening 13 minutes against Liverpool, who managed to fight back for a 2-2 draw.
Such displays led to reports claiming Tottenham had taken an interest in the talented player, with Football London linking the two parties on Thursday.
According to the Evening Standard, however, Daka’s agent, former Spurs striker Freddie Kanoute, has informed his old club that his client wants to stay in Austria this summer.
TBR View:
Whilst Daka has made a huge name for himself over the past season, particularly after Erling Braut Haaland’s exit, his talent has been evident for years.
Former Lille and Zambia coach Herve Renard previously said “write his name down because he’s very, very promising” (Besoccer).
Meanwhile, Dan Kabwe – another of his former coaches – told News Diggers that the £20million-rated forward reminded him of Thierry Henry.
However, it looks as though Spurs – and indeed Arsenal and Liverpool, who have also been linked – will have to bide their time for the talented forward
