Tottenham Hotspur were heavily linked with Alessandro Bastoni during the summer.
In the end, Spurs weren’t able to get their hands on the Italian, who chose to stay at Inter Milan.
Tottenham opted to sign Clement Lenglet on a simple season-long loan deal from Barcelona.

And while Lenglet has done well, there is no option or obligation for Spurs to buy.
Now, according to CMW, Bastoni has done something that may have caught Tottenham’s eye once again.
Inter boss Simone Inzaghi took the 23-year-old in the first half of their eventual defeat at Udinese last week.
The Nerazzurri coach decided to replace both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Bastoni in the 30th minute at the Dacia Arena.
Both players had picked up a yellow card within the first 21 minutes.
But Bastoni was not happy to say the least with Inzaghi’s decision.
Football Italia wrote: ‘As highlighted by DAZN, Bastoni in particular was furious after being taken off the pitch by Inzaghi, kicking a seat on the bench multiple times.
‘Teammate Robin Gosens tried to calm him down by commenting on how many were watching his reaction.
‘It was the 23-year-old Italian centre-back’s first booking of the Serie A season. And he clearly wasn’t impressed with Inzaghi’s cautious actions.’

CMW suggested this could lead to Spurs eyes on Bastoni once again.
However, they made it clear that Inter won’t settle for less than €60m (around £53m) for him.
Bastoni’s contract runs until 2024, so the Nerazzurri still have a fair bit of leverage in talks. At least until next summer, anyway.
But could Inter now be willing to soften their stance in wake of the ‘guaranteed superstar‘ defender’s reaction last weekend?
