Report: Spurs could make big announcement as soon as this weekend
Spurs are closing in on two big appointments, according to reports.
Tottenham have apparently been in talks with Paulo Fonseca in recent days.
At the same time, Spurs could be making a big backroom appointment too.
Fabio Paratici, the former Juventus director of football, is reportedly closing in on similar role at Tottenham.
And football.london reports that Spurs could announce the Italian’s arrival as early as this weekend.
The outlet claims that Paratici is still in Italy, tying up the loose ends from his Juve stint.
The 48-year-old will apparently join Spurs in a similar role to the one he had in Turin, where he was Chief Football Officer.
It will be a more all-encompassing role that previous director of football types have had at Tottenham, added the outlet.
Paratici, who spent 11 years at Juventus, is also reportedly expected to become the public face of Spurs’ hierarchy.
Spurs heading in the right direction – TBR View
Juve fans have differing opinions of Paratici, with some loving his work over the past decade and others not happy with how the squad looks now.
Although his final season may have not been great in terms of recruitment, people can’t understate his role in bringing 19 trophies to Turin in 11 years, as well as in signing Cristiano Ronaldo.
By landing Paratici, Spurs would be heading in the right direction, as they’d be appointing a man with great expertise.
