Report: Spurs could land 'complete' World Cup attacker for £35m, same agent as Hojbjerg
With the January transfer window looming, Tottenham Hotspur could potentially delve into the market.
One area Spurs are reportedly plotting to strengthen is in attack.
Antonio Conte has found himself unable to use several of his forwards at various points this season.
In addition, Tottenham are apparently also looking to bolster their ranks at wing-back.
Spurs’ issues on both flanks have been well documented.
One player Tottenham are apparently keeping tabs could tick both boxes for Conte.
That player is Atletico Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco.
Spurs have been linked with the Belgium international a number of times over the past few years.
Now, it looks as though Atleti are looking to offload him over the coming weeks.
And with that, Tottenham are said to be keen on doing a deal once again.
They apparently value the 29-year-old at £35million. And they’d be willing to either arrange a loan-to-buy move or sell him outright.
Just what Tottenham need – TBR View
As we mentioned earlier, Carrasco would tick boxes for Conte in attack and at wing-back, much like Ivan Perisic.
In addition, Carrasco has plenty of experience at the top level, and is a player of the highest quality.
The ‘very complete’ talent has over 300 competitive appearances for Atletico and Monaco, as well as 62 caps for Belgium.
And he has won a La Liga title and a Europa League, on top of playing at two World Cups and two European Championships.
Carrasco could go into Tottenham’s starting XI right away, something that isn’t so easy under Conte.
And with Spurs desperate to get back on track, he’d be just what they need in terms of quality and experience.
