Report: Spurs considering swapping Tanganga for absolute ‘menace’, Romero knows him well

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a swap deal involving Spurs defender Japhet Tanganga and PSG midfielder Leandro Paredes.

This is according to Italian outlet CMW, who suggested Tottenham’s plan would ‘knock out’ Serie A’s big three.

Tanganga has been linked with a move away from Spurs for a number of weeks now.

Tottenham director Fabio Paratici has reportedly been in talks with suitors over the 23-year-old defender.

Tanganga is apparently on the radar of both AC Milan and Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, Juventus reportedly want Paredes, but must offload Arthur Melo first.

Paredes has also been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent months.

Back in April, Calciomercato.it claimed Antonio Conte welcomed the prospect of the Argentine coming to N17.

And now, CMW suggests Tottenham could look to offer Tanganga to PSG in exchange for the £17m-rated Paredes.

At Tottenham, Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Winks are surplus to requirements, while Oliver Skipp has sadly picked up another injury.

So there’s certainly scope for Conte and Paratici to bring in more reinforcements in midfield.

And Paredes, a “menace” of a midfielder, may well fit the bill for Tottenham.

At 28, he’s in the peak of his career, boasts plenty of experience, is a proven winner, and PSG seem willing to do business.

The only potential sticking point for Spurs would be his salary – according to Salarysport, he’s on £148,000-a-week.

So we’ll see whether Tottenham plan to pursue Paredes in the coming weeks.

But Cristian Romero’s Argentina teammate would certainly be a good addition to Conte’s squad.
