There is plenty of excitement amongst Tottenham Hotspur coaches around Alfie Devine, according to football.london.
The 16-year-old midfielder joined Tottenham’s academy in the summer, Wigan Today claiming the Latics earned a fee in the region of £300,000 for the sale.
An FA Youth Cup quarter-finalist with Wigan in 2019-20, briefly playing against Spurs U18s in the fourth round, the England Under-16 international was previously on Liverpool’s books.
Jamie Carragher, whose son James plays for Wigan’s academy and came through the ranks like Devine, described the youngster as “top class” and was “gutted” the Latics couldn’t keep hold of him.
And according to football.london, there is excitement at the club around Devine, who has already become the club’s youngest ever player – making his debut in the FA Cup – and youngest goalscorer.
Devine is already an Under-23s regular despite his young age, and was on the bench at Brighton in the Premier League fixture on Thursday night.

The 16-year-old became Spurs’ youngest-ever Premier League player when he came off the bench in stoppage time of Sunday’s 2-0 win over West Brom aged 16 years and 320 days.
