Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly set for a triple boost ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Chelsea.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham trio Cristian Romero, Giovani Lo Celso and Davinson Sanchez will be back in the UK on Saturday.

And according to Sky Sports, Nuno is considering altering Tottenham’s training schedule in wake of the news.

This would involve moving the final pre-match session to late on Saturday, so the trio can be involved in at least some of the tactical preparation.

The three players went to South America over the September international break to play for Argentina and Colombia respectively.

Given mainland South America is on the UK government’s red list, the trio would’ve had to quarantine in a hotel if they flew in directly.

By spending 10 days training in Croatia, on the UK government green list, they won’t have to self-isolate upon returning to British soil.

And because Spurs sent a fitness coach out to Croatia, the trio should be match-fit and ready to feature against the Blues.

It’s good news for Nuno, whose side fell to a humbling 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace last time out.

Up next for Tottenham is the Europa Conference League trip to Rennes.

A good result there will stand the north Londoners in good stead ahead of hosting Chelsea on Sunday.

Eventful international break

Lo Celso and Romero were caught up in dramatic scenes in the World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Brazil in Sao Paulo.

The match was called off after just a few minutes when local health officials entered the pitch.

They accused the two Spurs players of violating covid protocols in order to enter the country.

Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez and Emiliano Buendia, the Tottenham duo’s teammates, were also caught up.

Also, as reported by the likes of The Guardian, Spurs did not give Romero and Lo Celso permission to join up with Argentina.

Indeed, Tottenham are reportedly expected to hand fines out to both players upon their return to N17.
