Report: Spurs boss Mourinho wants to sign Real Madrid's Miguel Gutierrez

Spurs boss, Jose Mourinho, has tried to sign Real Madrid youngster Miguel Gutierrez once again, after initally failing to land him at Manchester United.

The left-back, who is being tipped to take over from Marcelo in Madrid, is said to have caught the attention of the Spurs boss. Defensa Central claim that Mourinho has tried to land him while at Old Trafford, while he has also explored the idea of signing Gutierrez for Spurs.

Gutierrez, 19, is regarded as one of the very best young talents in the Castilla youth set up in Madrid. Despite not making his first-team bow yet, he is said to be on the radar of Zinedine Zidane.

But that hasn’t stopped Mourinho trying to land him. However, reports in Spain claim Gutierrez has rejected Mourinho’s advances again, with his heart set on playing for Madrid.

Described as a player with ‘no ceiling’ whose potential hasn’t been reached yet, Gutierrez will no doubt hope for a Madrid bow before the end of the season. Mourinho, meanwhile, looks like being left a frustrated figure once again.

And that is the uphill battle facing Mourinho and other managers in trying to sign the likes of Gutierrez.

The youngster clearly has his heart set on making it in Madrid, so there’s always going to be that obstacle to overcome for interested teams.

It will certainly be interesting to see if Zidane gives him his chance. Patience can wear thin in football at times, so Madrid will want to ensure they can keep their talented teen happy.
