Tottenham Hotspur believe that they are in pole position to sign Antalyaspor winger Paul Mukairu, who is also on the radar of Unai Emery, according to a report from The Sunday Mirror (21/2; page 67).
Mukairu is currently out on loan at Anderlecht. And he has impressed for Vincent Kompany’s men, scoring twice and contributing four assists in the Belgian top flight. He has four goals in all competitions.

Despite his lack of experience, a number of sides are tracking the Nigerian.
According to The Sunday Mirror (21/2; page 67), Bayer Leverkusen and Villarreal have been scouting Mukairu for almost a year.

It is suggested however, that Tottenham believe that they are leading the race to sign the 21-year-old. The Mirror notes that Spurs hope to complete a £4 million move in the summer.
It is an intriguing link with Tottenham. He has made a very promising start to his career. And the group of clubs monitoring his development hints that he is a player with a lot of potential.
Leverkusen, in particular, put a lot of emphasis on signing bright young players in January.
Nevertheless, Spurs have not had the best record when signing young wingers and attacking players from European clubs in the not-so-distant past.
So it will be very interesting to see if Tottenham do indeed win the race ahead of the likes of Emery and Peter Bosz this summer, and whether Mukairu can prove a success should he end up in North London.
