Report: Spurs and Manchester City open talks over £120m Harry Kane deal

Spurs and Manchester City have entered talks over a potential £120m deal which would see Harry Kane finally depart for The Etihad.

The story of Kane leaving Spurs has dominated the headlines all summer long thus far. City are determined to sign the England captain, despite having spent £100m on Jack Grealish already.

And while Daniel Levy remains rooted in his stance that Kane will stay put for anything less than £150m, the Daily Mail have claimed that talks have begun this week.

The Mail suggest that talks over a potential £120m deal – plus add-ons – have taken place. They claim that these talks will escalate further, after Sunday’s meeting between the two clubs on the field.

Kane, who is Spurs’ star man and has years to run on his six-year mega-deal, first made his feelings over a potential move clear while speaking to Gary Neville on The Overlap. Since then, the rumour mill has been in overdrive.

Special

For all the noise from City, Spurs are holding their ground it seems. After all, this is their skipper, who Jose Mourinho branded a ‘special player’ and tipped to break all Tottenham records.

With Grealish fetching £100m, and Ben White bringing £50m in for Brighton, Daniel Levy has every right to demand big money here.

The issue is whether Kane will still produce the same performances with a move in the back of his mind. City also seem intent, so this is not going away.

Expect a big week, then, following Sunday’s mouth-watering clash.
