Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa may choose to make a move for Aleksandar Mitrovic in the summer after reaching out to Fulham during the January transfer window, according to a report from the Daily Star.
Mitrovic has been outstanding for the Cottagers this season. The Serbia international has scored 18 goals in 26 league games. He also scored 11 times in the Premier League last term.

The Daily Star reports that Spurs and the Villans both weighed up moves for the 25-year-old, but were told by Fulham that they would need to pay £40 million.
It is suggested that the two Premier League sides have been put off this time around. But they are both keeping Mitrovic on their radar.

The Daily Star reports that a release clause could become active if Scott Parker’s men fail to get promoted – and that may bring Tottenham and Villa back into the race.
TBR View – Will Villa rue missing out on Mitrovic?
There is certainly an argument that both Tottenham and Villa could have done with signing Mitrovic this month.
Spurs are chasing the top four and will be without Harry Kane for some time. So they may have found it tough to walk away from the table after learning Fulham’s terms in January.
But Villa may be particularly concerned that they may ultimately rue not meeting Fulham’s demands.
Of course, it is easier said than done to get a deal across the line. The Villans were incredibly busy during the summer so may not have had much funds to play with this month anyway.
But Dean Smith’s side are in a relegation battle and their lack of options up front is a real concern.
So signing Mitrovic would have arguably been a huge boost for Villa as they look to secure a second consecutive season back in the top flight.
Unfortunately, it appears that they will have to book that spot before they can think about potentially landing the striker.
