Both Arsenal and Spurs have been handed a boost in their potential pursuit of Ajax star, Hakim Ziyech.
The 26-year-old was one of the stars of the show for the Dutch giants last season. Ziyech’s form was one of the key reasons behind Ajax nearly making it to the Champions League final.
Ziyech has continued his fine form this season, too. He’s already bagged eight goals in all competitions and has attracted the attention of Spurs, Arsenal, and other clubs.
However, according to a report from Calciomercato, Ziyech has been told he can leave the Dutch club if someone comes up with the cash. Ajax are reportedly seeking a fee in the region of £43m for the Moroccan.
Ziyech scored 16 league goals last season for Ajax. Importantly, he also contributes to the team too, dishing out an impressive 17 league assists to go alongside.
A brilliant signing for either club – TBR View
In terms of wide, attacking players in Europe, there are few better than Ziyech. Especially if you base that opinion purely on the form of last season.
Ziyech was nothing short of superb for Ajax. Important goals, vital assists, and a constant menace to defenders mean he has, rightfully, caught the eye of other clubs.
He’d be a brilliant signing for both Spurs and Arsenal in all honesty. Especially for Spurs, who have just lost the goals of Harry Kane for the foreseeable future at least.
For Arsenal, Ziyech would fit the mould of the sort of player they’ve signed over the last few years. However, whether Mikel Arteta wants to move away from signing flair players is another matter.
Still, if Hakim Ziyech is available then both Spurs and Arsenal would be silly to pass up the chance to sign him.
In today’s market, £43m is not a massive price to pay at all.
