Report: Sporting director to ‘lower price’ for £25m-rated Arsenal target; Spurs also want him
According to RMC Sport, the club’s sporting director Juninho wants to offload Lyon’s star playmaker. The Brazilian is so eager to sell Aouar that the midfielder could leave for a ‘lower price’ than what has recently been reported.
ESPN reported earlier in the window that Lyon were open to selling Aouar for just £25m.
And if the Ligue 1 side have lowered this asking price even further, both Arsenal and Tottenham could be in for a battle for the French international.
Indeed, the two north London sides have been chasing midfielders this summer but to no avail. However, Tottenham could have the advantage in the race for Aouar.
Granit Xhaka is set to sign a new long-term deal and the Gunners are chasing Martin Odegaard and Aaron Ramsdale. Meaning, Arsenal could run out of time to plot a move for Aouar.
Moreover, Mikel Arteta’s side still have players they want to offload. The likes of Hector Bellerin, Alexandre Lacazette and Willian could be sold before the end of the window.
With two weeks remaining in the window, it will be a busy time for clubs that have business left to do.
And Aouar will likely be on the move if Lyon have indeed lowered their asking price for the 23-year-old midfielder.
