Southampton are reportedly expecting a bid for their fringe player Sam Gallagher today (Friday).
According to Sky Sports, Championship club Blackburn Rovers are set to submit an offer for the 23-year-old imminently.
It is understood that Blackburn have been in talks about the attacker, while Wigan Athletic have also shown an interest.
The report details that the Saints want around £5million for him and manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is looking to trim the wage bill.
Gallagher is a fringe player at St Mary’s that managed just six senior games last season across all competitions.
The centre-forward has come through the academy ranks with Southampton, but there is huge competition for places in attack in the first-team.
He’s previously had spells out on loan with the likes of MK Dons, Blackburn and Birmingham.
The English striker impressed during his time with Blackburn in the 2016/17 campaign, where he scored 12 times in 47 games for them.

TBR’s View:
Gallagher doesn’t quite look at the level required to make a breakthrough at Southampton, but dropping down to the Championship on a permanent basis may be a good individual move.
A return to Blackburn looks a sensible decision if they do bid for him and the Saints want to make some money on a promising young talent.
Hasenhuttl already has numerous attacking options that will all be vying for a starting position next season and it looks extremely unlikely that Gallagher would get a look in.
