Swansea City defender Connor Roberts is a summer target for Southampton. According to The Sun, Southampton are monitoring Roberts ahead of a potential move this summer.
Southampton have identified right-back as a position which needs strengthening in the summer. And Ralph Hasenhuttl is weighing up his options in that department.
In January, Hasenhuttl let Cedric Soares leave and join Inter Milan on loan. And while a permanent move to the San Siro looks unlikely, the Portuguese defender does not appear to have a future at the St Mary’s Stadium.
This leaves Yan Valery, 20, and Kayne Ramsay, 18, as Southampton’s two right-backs. Hasenhuttl wants to bring in another player in this position.
Swansea’s Roberts has emerged as a target. The 9-cap Wales international impressed in the Championship this season, playing 49 games, scoring five goals and providing three assists.

But after Swansea’s mid-table finish, Roberts could be leaving the Welsh club. The lure of the Premier League might be tempting as Southampton eye a move.
Roberts could replace Cedric at Southampton and provide competition for Valery. The 23-year-old is still young but has a season’s experience in the Championship under his belt now.
As well as a right-back, the Saints want a centre-back and an attacking midfielder. Moussa Djenepo, Ademola Lookman and Harry Wilson are their attacking midfield targets.
