Southampton have made a £10 million bid for Darwin Nunez, according to a report from The Sun, but Almeria are holding out to see if they receive a bigger bid for the striker.
Nunez has reportedly caught the eye of a number of Premier League sides after an outstanding season in Spain’s second tier.

The 21-year-old scored 16 goals in 30 appearances as his side missed out on promotion to La Liga.
The Sun has suggested that the Saints want Nunez, along with Brighton and Sheffield United. And it appears that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men have made the first move.

According to the report, Southampton have made a £10 million bid for the youngster. However, Almeria are yet to make a decision as they look to make as big a profit as possible.
TBR View: Nunez’s potential suggests he could be superb signing for Southampton
Nunez marked his international debut for Uruguay with a goal last October. And his form this past season suggests that he could prove to be an incredibly exciting signing for Hasenhuttl’s side.
Of course, it looks to be an ideal time to move to St Mary’s for an attacking player. Danny Ings was outstanding last season, while Che Adams found some form late on in the campaign.
The Sun notes that the club are open to offers for Michael Obafemi. So perhaps Nunez could be the player to fill the potential void should the Republic of Ireland international leave this summer.
