Southampton lead the race to sign Sampdoria defender Omar Colley, with The Sun (Goals; 19/7; page 12) reporting that Newcastle United and West Ham United are also interested in the 27-year-old.
Colley has been excellent for the Serie A side this season. He has made 28 appearances in the top flight with Sampdoria still in with a shout of finishing in the top-half of the table.

It could prove to be his final season in Italy however. The Sun (Goals; 19/7; page 12) reports that the three Premier League sides are all interested in signing him when the window opens.
The report notes that the Saints are showing the most interest. But the Magpies and Hammers are also reportedly tracking the centre-back.

TBR View: Saints on course to finally land Colley
It remains to be seen if Southampton do manage to win the race to sign Colley. Should they manage it, it may be a particularly satisfying transfer for the club.
ESPN reported back in 2016 that the Saints had their eye on Colley in case they lost Virgil van Dijk. Of course, the Dutchman would head to Liverpool just over a year later.
It arguably says a lot that Southampton wanted Colley as a potential replacement for van Dijk.
And that may perhaps explain why he reportedly remains on their radar almost four years on.
