Southampton reportedly want to sign Liverpool man Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on loan.
What’s the story?
10 years after he left St Mary’s Stadium for Arsenal in a £15m deal, it seems the winger could return.
According to talkSPORT, the Saints are keen on signing the player from the Reds this summer. The publication also claims Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side are close to sealing a loan move for Chelsea’s Armando Broja.
Chamberlain has been a bit-part player for Liverpool since his move from north London for £35m.
Injuries really hampered the attacker throughout his career at the Emirates Stadium. And his problems seem to have followed him to Merseyside, where he has struggled to stay fit.
The 27-year-old played just 17 times across all competitions in the 2020/2021 campaign.
Jurgen Klopp has previously labelled the player ‘really outstanding’.

Southampton should steer clear of midfielder
From a quality point of view, the transfer makes complete sense.
The Liverpool man can play on both wings as well as in central midfield in what is impressive versatility. However, his injury problems are a big problem.
Does Hasenhuttl need another player to add to the long list of problems he endured last campaign?
By the midway point of last term, a staggering 16 Saints players had been affected by injuries or Covid.
So, while signing Chamberlain from Liverpool makes a lot of sense on one level, he may just add to the problems at Southampton.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has hinted at a new striking option for next season.
