Southampton defender Jannik Vestergaard is reportedly wanted by Premier League rivals Leicester City.
According to the Sun, the Saints enforcer is being eyed by third-placed Leicester and they want to take him to the King Power Stadium.
It is understood that the Foxes are set to make a £15million move to try sign the centre-back and a deal is believed to be “close”.
The report adds that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side feel they can lose a player in January after their great run of form.
Southampton have moved up to ninth in the league table after some excellent form and there are no longer any relegation fears looming around St Mary’s.
They have won five of their previous seven league fixtures in the top-flight and have risen up the standings.
Vestergaard moved to St Mary’s in the summer transfer window and he’s had a mixed first spell in English football.
The Denmark international has at times shown he’s a real physical presence at the back that is good in the air, but in others he’s made sloppy errors and struggled with pace.
He is a 6ft 6in colossus that did impress in a win over Crystal Palace in midweek, but that was his first league start since November.
Southampton should see £15million as decent business for him, as they still have the likes of Jack Stephens, Jan Bednarek and Maya Yoshida if he exits.
