According to Tuttomercatoweb, Southampton are interested in signing Bordeaux forward Francois Kamano. The Saints are working with the player’s representatives in order to bring him to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old attacker enjoyed a fine season in Ligue 1 last time out. Kamano racked up 13 goals and 4 assists in all competitions over the course of the campaign. He certainly established himself as a key player for the French club and his stock is now at an all-time high.

Kamano could flourish on the south coast, and Ralph Hasenhuttl should do all he can this summer to bring the 23-cap Guinea international to St Mary’s Stadium.

TBR’s view

Southampton struggled for goals last season. They lack attackers with consistency and cutting edge in the final third. The addition of Kamano would help the Saints become a more potent attacking force. What’s more, Kamano’s versatility allows him to operate anywhere across the frontline. This attribute would quickly make him a key member of the squad at St Mary’s Stadium.

Not only that, but given his age, the forward would be arriving with plenty of potential resale value. If Southampton were able to secure Kamano’s services now, get the best out of him, then sell him for a large profit in the future then that would be very good business.

All in all, Kamano seems like the ideal target for Southampton to pursue in this transfer window.
