A report from The Telegraph has suggested that Dele Alli is more likely to leave Tottenham Hotspur on loan this summer, with sources claiming that a bid that tempts Daniel Levy to sell him permanently is unlikely to come in.

Dele’s future now looks to have a major question mark hanging over it. He has been missing from Jose Mourinho’s last two squads.

The Telegraph reported on Sunday that talks with Paris Saint-Germain have already begun. But it appears that the chances of a permanent move away are currently slim.

According to The Telegraph, sources have suggested that Levy is unlikely to receive the kind of offer that leads to a permanent sale. A loan move is reportedly more likely.

The report adds that admirers Inter Milan could even struggle to fund a loan.

TBR View: Tottenham right to dig heels in over Dele

The Telegraph notes that Levy has no intention of letting Dele leave on the cheap. And he would be happy for the midfielder to stay in North London beyond this summer.

It certainly looks to be the right stance. If Spurs are going to lose the 24-year-old in this window, they need the funds to go out and potentially land a replacement.

Mourinho may currently not have Dele in his plans. But it is clear just how good the England international can be when he is at his best.

And Tottenham surely stand little chance of securing an adequate replacement if Levy opens the door for a bargain exit.
