Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet wants to leave the club this summer, according to The Evening Standard.
The Belgium international is ready to call time on his Anfield career with Alisson firmly established as the club’s number one.
The former Sunderland stopper has been a good servant for the Reds, making 204 appearances for the club.
Mignolet has been linked with several clubs since the 2018/19 season ended – Crystal Palace are believed to be readying an £8 million bid.
Whether the Reds would be willing to accept such an offer though remains to be seen.
Liverpool took Tranmere Rovers in a pre-season friendly at Prenton Park on Thursday evening, with the wantaway Mignolet featuring for the first 45 minutes.
It is little surprise to see Mignolet wanting out of Liverpool, if of course the Standard are to be believed.
Alisson has been a revelation for the Reds and he is set to be the club’s number one for years to come.
£60,000-a-week star Mignolet (Spotrac), who made just two appearances last term, is good enough to start for a lot of other teams in the Premier League.
After six years at the club and now aged 31, it could the perfect time to seek a new challenge.
