Report shares whether Tottenham Hotspur will actually get paid any money when Dele Alli leaves Everton this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are set to receive a significant amount of the transfer fee agreed for Dele Alli if he leaves Everton.

According to a report from i News, Alli has been cleared by Everton to join Turkish side Besiktas, but is short of the 20 games required for Everton to pay Tottenham a £10m fee.

However, Everton will still be required to pay a ‘significant portion’ of the fee to Tottenham if Alli leaves before reaching this landmark.

Alli’s move to Everton hasn’t worked out well for the player or the club in this instance, after such high hopes for Alli to revitalise this career at Goodison Park.

Lampard labelled Alli a ‘big asset’ for the club two weeks ago, but the 26-year-old has only featured off the bench this season after Everton lost both of their opening matches.

Tottenham set to receive significant fee for Alli

After moving to Goodison Park in January once Antonio Conte made it clear he wouldn’t be in his plans at Spurs, Alli has never really got going.

He’s made 13 appearances in the Premier League in that time, and hasn’t scored or provided an assist.

There were previously reports that Alli was trying hard enough in training, and Gabby Agbonlahor has questioned whether he still has the same hunger he did when he was younger.

It’s smart business from Daniel Levy to include a clause in Alli’s sale to Everton to still receive a portion of the expected transfer fee in case his move to Merseyside didn’t work out as planned.

The hope is that Alli can rediscover some of the form everyone knows he’s capable of in Turkey.

Alli hasn’t received an England call-up in three years and his last competitive goal coming against NS Mura in the Europa Conference League.

It’s a sad fall from grace for a player who was once regarded as one of England’s most exciting prospects.
