Tottenham Hotspur have inserted a clause which would allow them to buy Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet.
90Min report that Spurs will have the option to buy the French centre-half ahead of the start of next season.
Lenglet looks all set to be the new central defender that Antonio Conte has been looking for all summer long to bolster his back three.
There have been other targets before him, such as Alessandro Bastoni, but he made it clear he wanted to stay at Inter Milan.

Tottenham have Lenglet buy clause
It makes sense that Tottenham have this organised.
The last thing they want is Lenglet impressing on the left of their back three but they have nothing in place to buy him at the end of the season.
If it doesn’t work out, they do not have to buy him, but the option is there if they want to exercise it, and you would think a fee has already been agreed.
That is also a good idea, in case a strong season sparked a bidding war or an increase in his value, and you would expect nothing less than Daniel Levy.

Lenglet has a £265 million release clause and Tottenham are getting him on loan. They have taken advantage of Barcelona’s financial situation and done well.
A potential concern is that he did not appear to be their first choice target, and after a summer of links with big-money central defenders, Spurs have ended up with a loan move for someone unwanted by Barcelona.
But Lenglet does have quality, he just needs the right platform to show it and he will hope he can rediscover his best form on the left of Tottenham’s back three.
