Joshua Zirkzee would prefer to join Everton over Parma, according to a report from The Times this week.
Zirkzee is attracting attention with The Times reporting that he is keen to leave Bayern Munich. He has only made a handful of appearances this term having scored four in nine Bundesliga games last year.
The report claims that both the Toffees and Parma want the 19-year-old forward. And it is suggested that he could end up at Goodison Park on loan with an option to buy.
Encouragingly for Everton, The Times also suggests that Zirkzee would rather join them than his Serie A admirers.
There appears to be a potential issue for Carlo Ancelotti’s men however.
According to the report, Everton need to offload players first. It is noted that both Cenk Tosun and Jonjoe Kenny are wanted elsewhere.
Zirkzee would be an exciting addition to Ancelotti’s squad in the final days of the window. He boasts an outstanding record during his youth career, and he also has a couple of appearances in the Champions League under his belt.
An initial loan move may prove a shrewd decision from Everton. It will give them a better chance to assess whether Bayern were right not to use him more or whether a permanent move in the summer has the potential to be reflected upon as a huge coup.
