TBR View – Arsenal fans should take encouragement from Arteta’s desire to land defender
Arsenal supporters would be forgiven for having concerns about signing Stones.
He has struggled this season. And it appears that he is in some danger of not realising the full potential that he showed during his time at Everton.
But Arteta’s reported interest should give the Emirates faithful some hope. If the Spaniard is as keen as the previous report suggested, then he must believe that a move to North London could make a massive difference to Stones’s fortunes.
Arteta has got little wrong since arriving earlier in the season. And along the way, he has helped a number of players turn their form around.
If Stones joins and proves to be the latest, it could be a game-changing signing for the Gunners.
It feels like a big if at this stage however.
