Tottenham Hotspur remain confident that Jack Clarke will vindicate the club’s decision to sign him last summer despite his difficult season, according to a report from Football London.
It has been a tough campaign for the winger. Clarke was responsible for ending Tottenham’s 18-month wait for a signing last summer, with The Telegraph reporting that he cost £10 million from Leeds United.

Unfortunately for the 19-year-old, he has, so far, struggled to vindicate Spurs’s decision to part with an eight-figure fee.
He initially returned to Leeds on loan for the campaign. However, his return to Elland Road was cut short in January after he failed to make a single league start for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Clarke then joined Queens Park Rangers. He has made four appearances for Mark Warburton’s men. But, once again, he is still awaiting his first league star for the club.
Nevertheless, it appears that Tottenham remain optimistic about Clarke’s future. According to Football London, Spurs still believe that he will live up to expectations in the future.
TBR View – Clarke now has point to prove
It is encouraging for Tottenham fans that the club remain hopeful for Clarke’s future. However, the fans would be forgiven for having their doubts.
When the teenager burst onto the scene last season, he forced Bielsa’s hand with some stunning displays off the bench. But after falling ill towards the end of the campaign, he struggled to recapture that form.
It would be unfair to suggest that he will not get back to that level. He has not been given enough of a chance to impress at either of the two clubs he has played for this season.
His time may come at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium before this campaign concludes. But it does feel as though Spurs’ decision on what to do with Clarke this summer – whether that be to keep hold of him or loan him out again – could already be crucial.
