Brendan Rodgers continues to have influential admirers at both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, according to a report from The Athletic.

Rodgers is in an interesting position at Leicester City. He has achieved plenty at the King Power Stadium, with the highlight coming when he lifted the FA Cup last season.

However, their latest performance in that competition has highlighted the work that lies ahead at Leicester. It does appear that a rebuild of the squad is on the cards.

Rodgers may well want to oversee that project. He himself however, has admitted that he is now under pressure.

But it would appear that he could attract some significant offers in the years to come should he become available.

The Athletic reports that the 49-year-old is liked by some at both Manchester clubs. Meanwhile, Tottenham and Arsenal continue to be admirers of Rodgers.

Rodgers likely to be in contention whenever Tottenham and Arsenal jobs next come up

Obviously, Tottenham have only recently appointed Antonio Conte. And there is great optimism about where the Italian can take Spurs given his track record.

Meanwhile, Arsenal clearly have a lot of faith in Mikel Arteta. However, Arteta has not completely silenced all of his critics at the Emirates. In fact, the Gunners go into Thursday’s clash with Wolves looking for their first win of 2022, and their first goal in five.

Much will come down to timing. The Athletic notes that Rodgers rejected Tottenham last year.

But should that job come up – and it is no secret that Conte has not tended to spend too long at any club – Rodgers may perhaps be tempted to offer a different answer.

Arsenal meanwhile, have shown that they are prepared to back Arteta in the market. So that would be a tricky job for any manager to turn down in the future.

Rodgers has been lauded as a ‘fantastic‘ manager recently. And it is no surprise that clubs such as Tottenham and Arsenal have him on their radar.
