Ross Barkley is believed to be keen to stay at Aston Villa on a permanent basis after a superb start to life on loan, according to a report from Birmingham Live.
Barkley has been an inspired addition to Dean Smith’s ranks. He has scored two goals, provided one assist and generally been a superb performer in his six appearances so far.

It is going to be very interesting to see what the future holds for Barkley. Should he continue to impress, Chelsea will surely wonder if it is worth giving him another chance upon his return to Stamford Bridge.
But as things stand, it would appear that returning to Chelsea may not appeal to the 27-year-old.

According to Birmingham Live, Barkley is believed to be keen to stay at Villa Park beyond the end of his current loan.
It would be a big statement if the Villans were able to sign Barkley permanently. He will not come cheap.
The Telegraph notes that he is on £110,000-a-week – which Villa are paying while he is on loan. And his form for Smith’s men is only going to lead to his value increasing.
But if Barkley’s recent form is a sign of what is to come, Villa may not have many qualms about paying whatever price Chelsea set for the attacking midfielder.
