PSG are extremely wary of appointing Antonio Conte amid suggestions that the Tottenham Hotspur boss is being lined up by those at Parc des Princes, according to a report from The Telegraph.

Conte’s future in North London already looks to be in some doubt. Spurs have now lost four of their last five in the Premier League. And they have blown a brilliant opportunity to put themselves in a strong position in the top-four race.

The defeat to Burnley on Wednesday looks set to be a pivotal moment in Conte’s time at Tottenham. Conte cast doubt over his own future after the game.

Reports claimed that he is still unlikely to leave. And perhaps one of the factors that may determine what his future holds could be where he could end up next.

The Telegraph reports that there is an assumption that he is being lined up by PSG as a potential replacement for Mauricio Pochettino. However, the report adds that PSG are extremely wary of turning to Conte.

Interestingly, The Telegraph suggests that the Ligue 1 giants are not wary of Conte because they do not rate him. Instead, it is because they are unsure of whether they could handle him.

Impossible to know where Tottenham could go if Conte ends up walking away

Tottenham have not had a good time when it comes to appointing managers in recent years. In fact, they took ages to turn to Nuno Espírito Santo last summer having had months to resolve the situation.

Losing Conte would potentially be a huge blow for Tottenham. He is a world-class manager. And he has won trophies throughout his managerial career.

And where they turn next will be extremely difficult to predict. They have tried several different approaches in the last few years. And Conte was the safest bet yet.

It could still come good for Conte at Tottenham. But it perhaps says a fair amount that PSG would seemingly be extremely reluctant to pursue Conte if the chance presented itself – despite rating him highly.
