Leeds United fans would have been forgiven for expecting to see a lot more of Bryce Hosannah after the youngster was included in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad for the Whites’ pre-season tour to Australia last summer.
Hosannah has often looked like one of the brightest prospects within the club’s youth ranks. And Bielsa including the right-back in the touring squad seemed to be an acknowledgement of his potential.

However, the 20-year-old – who arrived from Crystal Palace in 2017 – goes into the final nine games of the season still awaiting the chance to make his first-team debut for the Championship leaders. He has however, been included on the bench.
Nevertheless, a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post has suggested that Bielsa continues to have high hopes for the starlet.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Hosannah is popular with the Leeds squad, and is highly rated by Bielsa.
TBR View – Hard to blame Bielsa for Hosannah’s wait for debut
Despite the belief in Hosannah, it is difficult to see when his first-team chance will come. Luke Ayling has been sensational in recent months.
And before that, Stuart Dallas established himself as a player of the season contender while playing at right-back.
Meanwhile, the likes of Robbie Gotts and Jamie Shackleton are also capable of playing in that position and have had more exposure to the senior squad.
But there is no question that it is fantastic for Leeds to have another ace up their sleeve.
And given the players currently shining in the under-23 ranks, Hosannah is not going to be the only prospect awaiting a debut catching Bielsa’s eye.
