A report from The Athletic has shared the likelihood of Kalvin Phillips featuring for Leeds United in their next Premier League game, against Southampton later this month.
What’s the story?
Phillips has had to withdraw from international duty with England. It comes after he suffered a minor calf injury in the Whites’ win over Watford at the weekend.

It is a blow for Phillips. He has established himself as a key part of Gareth Southgate’s side over the last year.
But of course, Leeds fans would have also been forgiven for having concerns for what his absence may mean for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Phillips remains the key man for Leeds. And not having him in the games after the break would have been a big setback as they look to capitalise on that first win.

But the good news is Phillips is not expected to be out for long. The Athletic reports that he has a good chance of playing against the Saints.
Leeds need Phillips involved as Southampton midfield suffer big blow
Bielsa has proved this season that he is prepared to not risk Phillips if he is not fully fit. The 25-year-old sat out the opening day defeat to Manchester United after having a busy summer.
But if there is one player he is prepared to take a gamble on, it is surely the midfielder.
And with Southampton losing talisman James Ward Prowse to suspension, Leeds have a fantastic opportunity to dominate that battle in the middle of the park.
Replacing Phillips has been a thorn in Leeds’ side throughout Bielsa’s tenure.
So not having to worry about that will certainly give the Whites a big lift.
