A report from Defensa Central has made a potentially surprising claim regarding how the Real Madrid squad have reacted to Gareth Bale’s upturn in form at Tottenham Hotspur.
Bale has been outstanding of late. The Welshman had endured an extremely tough time during the opening months of his loan spell in North London.

But he appears to have turned a corner. The forward has scored six goals in his last six games in all competitions, and he has also provided three assists during that run.
He has looked a lot more like the player that helped Madrid win Champions Leagues in the past. But it appears that his form is not catching the eye of his teammates back at the Bernabeu.

According to Defensa Central, the only player from Los Blancos’ squad who congratulated Bale about his form was Luka Modric.
In fact, it is claimed that Modric is the only Madrid player who has kept in contact with Bale.

It is often said when there is any sort of public falling-out amongst a squad that it is not uncommon for teammates to simply not get on. And yet, most players are able to put that to one side when out on the pitch.
So Bale not being in contact with the large majority of the Madrid squad may not be a big deal for either the Spurs loanee or those back in the Spanish capital.
But it does potentially highlight how difficult it may be for Bale to force his way back into the fold with his parent club in the summer.
And that may ultimately hand Spurs a further boost should they decide that they want to keep him beyond his loan.
