The doom and gloom around Arsenal and Newcastle has been pretty disheartening for the supporters of those clubs for many years now.

Both sets of fans are searching for that light, whether it’s Arsenal signing a big-name player or Newcastle seeing an end to their current ownership.

Well, one player that has provided that enjoyment for those in Newcastle colours has been a man born from Arsenal’s academy, Joe Willock.

The Chronicle have claimed that the Hale End star remains ‘keen’ on a transfer to the North East.

It is said returning to the club, where he went on a scoring spree, is his preferred destination if he has to head for the Emirates exit door this summer.

Willock scored in a record-breaking seven consecutive games for the Magpies towards the back end of last season and became the youngest player in Premier League history to achieve such a feat.
