Neither Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg or Eric Dier are keen to be reunited with Jose Mourinho, with The Sun reporting that the pair want to stay at Spurs.

Mourinho stunned everyone earlier this week as it was announced that he would take charge of Roma from next season.

And, perhaps unsurprisingly, it did not take long for links to emerge with certain Tottenham Hotspur players.

Italian outlet Calcio Today claimed that Mourinho wanted both Dier and Hojbjerg.

However, it appears that the Spurs fans hoping to see the pair stay are set to be pleased. The Sun reports that Tottenham are ready to tell any admirers that neither player is for sale.

The report adds that Dier is not keen to move to the Italian capital. Meanwhile, Hojbjerg – who arrived for £15 million during Mourinho’s tenure – wants to stay at Spurs.

Admittedly, it is a little more difficult to argue that keeping Dier is a boost after his performance on Saturday.

However, the Spurs pair are two players who clearly have the potential to be key men under the club’s next manager.

Hojbjerg has been one of Tottenham’s best players this season. Dier meanwhile, has shown glimpses of his best form.

It is little surprise that Spurs have no interest in selling. And you would imagine that Mourinho wanting to make a move is surely only likely to make them dig their heels in further.
