Derby County currently value Louie Sibley at £15 million, with the Daily Mirror reporting just how long the 19-year-old has been on Leeds United’s radar.

Sibley’s future has become a talking point in recent times amid links with a potential Elland Road switch.

The Mirror reports that the Whites have made an enquiry for the Rams teenager. However, any plans to try and sign Sibley have been put on ice, with Derby reportedly wanting £15 million.

It is suggested that Leeds do not have the funds to meet that asking price in this window. However, it looks likely that it will not be the last time the Whites are linked with Sibley.

The Mirror notes that the youngster has been on Victor Orta’s radar since he scored a hat-trick against Leeds’s under-23s last November.

So the fact that the Whites decided to make an enquiry in this window surely highlights just how highly Leeds rate Sibley.

Of course, they may also have to be prepared to pay more should they return in a future window.

If Sibley impresses at Pride Park over the coming months, Derby are almost certainly going to increase their asking price further.

On the other hand, Leeds may see an upside to seeing his valuation going up as he is clearly a player they feel could develop into something special.
