Hibernian are likely to be the Scottish Premiership side Leigh Griffiths will join should he leave Celtic this summer, according to a report from the Daily Record.
Like several of his teammates, there seems to be a question mark hanging over Griffiths’s Parkhead future amid uncertainty over who will be leading the Hoops next season.
The 30-year-old has been an outstanding servant for Celtic for much of his spell with the Bhoys. However, he has been more of a peripheral figure this season.
The striker has started just seven times in the Scottish Premiership. He has featured a further 11 times from the bench.
The Daily Record reports that he has an option to leave this summer. But it is claimed that Aberdeen are unlikely to be the side to lure him away. Instead, it is reportedly Hibs who are the most likely top flight rival to land the forward.
TBR View: Difficult to write Griffiths off altogether
It does appear that Griffiths may be approaching the latter stages of his time at Celtic. And it is probably fair to say that some supporters would not mind seeing him move on.
However, he has come back from being written off in the past. And with Hoops fans still waiting to find out who the next manager will be, it would be wrong to completely write him off this time.
With others likely to leave, the new boss may be wary of also letting Griffiths move on. And if something clicks, he may be ready to quieten his doubters once again.
