Football London has outlined how optimistic some at Arsenal are about Nikolaj Moller’s future, with the report claiming that there is genuine belief amongst the academy coaches that he could become a top Premier League striker.

The 18-year-old arrived at the Emirates from Malmo earlier this season. It was noted by the Daily Mail that he cost £450,000.

Moller is yet to make his senior debut for the Gunners. However, there already seemed to be plenty of excitement surrounding his potential.

As noted by Football London, he has drawn comparisons with countryman Zlatan Ibrahimovic due to his stature. Ibrahimovic also came through at Malmo before moving on to Ajax.

And Football London has added that there is an optimism amongst the coaches that Moller has the talent to thrive at the highest level.

It is a huge claim to back Moller to reach such a standard in the future. But the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka have proved in recent years that the pathway to the first-team is there for those who are good enough.

Moller has, so far, scored four goals in 12 Premier League 2 appearances since his move. So it would appear that he has some work to do before he really finds himself on Mikel Arteta’s radar.

But then, with doubts over the futures of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah (via The Sun), as well as Folarin Balogun (via Football London), Moller can surely set his sights on pushing for an opportunity or two next season.
