Report shares Antonio Rudiger stance on Tottenham move
Tottenham Hotspur will seemingly face an uphill battle trying to sign Antonio Rudiger in the summer, with The Independent claiming that he would prefer to move abroad should he leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
Spurs are one of the sides in the running to sign the Germany international. His contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of the campaign.
Chelsea would like to keep the centre-back. However, The Independent claims that the terms that they have offered to the 28-year-old are not as lucrative as what is being discussed with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
It was reported this week that Tottenham are set to make a strong proposal of their own for Rudiger. But it would seem that Antonio Conte may have to be particularly persuasive to convince the defender to join Spurs.
The Independent reports that Rudiger would rather move abroad than stay in England should he quit Chelsea.
Conte the kind of manager to give Tottenham a chance of convincing Rudiger into move
Tottenham fans will probably be pessimistic about their chances of signing the German. Some may not mind that. They are battling the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern and Manchester United for his signature.
He is reportedly on £100,000-a-week with the Blues, according to Spotrac. So it is quite something that Real and Bayern are apparently prepared to offer a lot more.
But if any manager was going to give Tottenham a chance of a deal, it may be Conte. It was a huge statement bringing the Italian in. It already appears that he is having an impact at the club. And he could be their wildcard in the transfer market.
