Spanish top-flight club Sevilla are reportedly considering a move for Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.

According to Marca, the La Liga outfit are lining up a potential raid for the 32-year-old this summer.

The report explains that Sevilla are weighing up a swoop for the Spaniard.

Leeds only signed the shot-stopper back in January on a free transfer from Real Madrid and he earned the number one position under manager Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road.

Casilla is still under contract with the Yorkshire giants until 2023 and has been preparing for the new season in the Championship.

He replaced youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell in-between the sticks at Leeds last season and wasn’t quite able to get his time over the line for promotion.

TBR’s View:

Casilla hardly set the world alight following his arrival from Madrid in January and did make a handful of individual errors in goal.

But it would be risky to ditch the number one just before the beginning of the season and he could have a key role to play in a promotion bid if he stays.

Youngster Peacock-Farrell could step up to the number one role if Casilla does depart, but it would surely leave Leeds needing to sign a new goalkeeper.

Casilla has a long-term contract and has bags of experience, which is why the club should demand a sizeable fee from Sevilla if he is to leave.
