Sevilla are monitoring Davinson Sanchez ahead of the summer, with the Tottenham Hotspur centre-back eyed as a potential replacement for Jules Kounde, according to a report from Spanish outlet El Gol Digital.

Kounde is attracting attention from the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United. And it appears that Sevilla are preparing for his departure in the coming months.

According to El Gol Digital, they want a fee of around £77.4 million (€90 million) for the 22-year-old, and if he does leave, it is Sanchez they have their eye on.

The report claims that Monchi has done extensive research on the Spurs man. It is suggested that they are prepared to pay around £34.4 million (€40 million) for the Colombian.

It remains to be seen what Tottenham’s stance on selling Sanchez would be. But he has been a regular fixture in Jose Mourinho’s side in recent times.

Sanchez – who earns £65,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – has started Spurs’ last seven games in the Premier League.

Having said that, Tottenham will surely be tempted to consider a sale if a significant bid comes in.

The 24-year-old is yet to silence all of his doubters – although he has produced a number of impressive performances in recent weeks – so they may have doubts about their chances of making their money back on Sanchez.

Spurs paid around £42 million to sign him in 2017 (fee reported by the Guardian). But he has arguably not kicked on as many would have hoped.

So if Sevilla do indeed come calling with a bid of over £34 million, perhaps Tottenham would be forgiven for deciding to cash in.
