Italian club Roma reportedly have their eyes on players from both Tottenham and Liverpool this summer.
According to Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla on his personal website, the Serie A outfit want to land Spurs defender Alderweireld.
It is understood that they are planning an attempt to try sign the 30-year-old centre-back, but he could demand a sizeable fee despite being in the final year of his contract.
The report details that Liverpool’s defensive enforcer Dejan Lovren is also being eyed by Roma.
The no-nonsense Croatian would cost around £18.3million to prize away from Anfield, but he’s been a long-term target of AC Milan.
Lovren, 30, finds himself down the centre-back pecking order at Liverpool, but picked up a Champions League winning medal for last season.
With Alderweireld’s £25million release clause now expiring, Spurs should only let the Belgian exit for a big transfer fee in the remainder of the summer window.
He can have a big role to play in the coming season for Mauricio Pochettino’s side and it would be almost impossible to replace him so late in the window.
Meanwhile, Lovren is certainly not of the same importance to Liverpool, but is still an important squad member and offers great strength in depth for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
