Report: Serie A club director in London for 'important' talks, Tottenham want two of his players
Tottenham Hotspur haven’t wasted any time in bolstering their ranks this summer.
We’re still not even halfway into June and already Spurs have signed two players.
Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster have joined Tottenham on free transfers.
Spurs are reportedly also closing in on deals for Richarlison and Djed Spence.
And now, it looks as though a player who suddenly became unavailable might actually be available after all.
On Wednesday afternoon, Alessandro Bastoni’s agent Tullio Tinti met with the Inter Milan board.
Afterwards, he spoke to the press, confirming – as quoted by Fabrizio Romano – that “Bastoni will stay at Inter for sure.
“He has a contract and he’s happy with Inter – there’s no problem.”
Bastoni appeared to endorse the message by posting blue and black heart emojis on Instagram soon after.
It looked as though that ship had sailed, but now two Italian websites have suggested Inter may still look to do business.
The outlet talked about a potential reunion between Inter and Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku before commenting on Tottenham.
Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are reportedly interested in Bastoni and Lautaro Martinez.
In addition, FC Inter 1908 claimed Ausilio ‘wants to know how strong Paratici’s interest in Bastoni is and how far they’re willing to go’.
Better still, the outlet claims that, ‘if Tottenham were to make an offer of €55-60m for Bastoni, the Nerazzurri would sell him’.
So it looks as though the Bastoni door is far from shut despite the player and agent appearing to close it in midweek.
