Report: Senior Liverpool sources firmly believe ‘incredible’ player will be a success, the next week is 'key'

Senior sources at Liverpool firmly believe that Arthur Melo will be a success at Anfield, with the Athletic reporting that the international break is ‘key’ for the player

Arthur is yet to start a game under Jurgen Klopp but did make a substitute appearance in Liverpool’s 4-1 loss to Napoli in the Champions League.

The Brazilian midfielder went through a difficult spell at Juventus and made the deadline day switch to Anfield on a season-long loan deal.

Liverpool sources believe Arthur will be a success

Reports have suggested that Klopp isn’t convinced by the player and that Liverpool could terminate the loan deal in January

But the Athletic reports that sources at Anfield have rubbished these claims and they are convinced the decision to sign the 26-year-old will be proven right.

It is believed that the current international break will be ‘key’ in order for Arthur to build his fitness.

The former Barcelona man played in Papa Johns Trophy for Liverpool’s U21 side last night as he continues to work on his fitness.

Reports have suggested the player has been putting in extra work by training alone during his days off

Liverpool knew Arthur would be behind due to being one month behind Klopp’s squad in terms of pre-season preparations, notes the Athletic.

The Brazil international enjoyed a promising spell at Barca and is clearly a talented player.

Liverpool will be hoping Arthur can rediscover his best form and become an important player under Klopp.

The German boss has been boosted by the return of Thiago and Jordan Henderson. But Arthur will still have an important role to play at Anfield with a packed fixture schedule ahead.
