German club Schalke have joined the reported pursuit for Liverpool flyer Rafael Camacho.

According to the Daily Mail, Schalke manager David Wagner rates the 19-year-old and is confident he could make an impact in the Bundesliga.

It is understood that there has already been interest this summer in the Portuguese teenager from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sporting Lisbon.

The report details that the player expects his future to lie away from Anfield after he turned down a new contract with Liverpool and the club want around £10million for him with a sell-on clause.

Camacho is keen to be used as an attacker, but slotted in at right-back in one of his two first-team games for Liverpool last season and could look to develop elsewhere.

He is a wide player with great pace and trickery that has shown his attacking qualities at youth level, but the path into the first team is blocked by the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

TBR’s View:

Camacho clearly wants out of Merseyside after rejecting a deal and collecting £10million for him would be a decent piece of business.

Liverpool realistically can’t give him what he wants right now and the Bundesliga is helping to give youngster the opportunity.
