River Plate midfielder Santiago Sosa is reportedly closing in on a move to Everton. According to TyC Sports, Sosa’s agent will travel to England next week to finalise this move.
Everton are set to splash around £12m for the young midfielder. But the transfer is not yet complete so Sosa’s agent needs to iron out a few details before this is a done deal.
Sosa is currently representing Argentina at the U20 World Cup in Poland. The young Argentine midfielder plays in a holding role and he has impressed since making his River Plate debut.
Despite his young age, Sosa has already played five games for River Plate and he looks at home in senior football. Four of those appearances have come in the Primera Division.
Everton have scouted Sosa and have high hopes for his future. The 20-year-old is showing early signs that he can carve out a successful career.

The Toffees are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer. Marco Silva wants to build his squad to compete for European football next season.
Sosa might not be an immediate first-team signing. Due to his lack of experience, Sosa might need some time in the youth team first. Alternatively, Silva could give him a loan exit.
However, the Argentina U20 international is seen as one to watch in the future. If he fulfils his potential, Everton could have a top player on their books.
