Leeds United do not appear to have made any significant moves for San Lorenzo striker Adolfo Gaich, at least according to the press in Argentina.
There have been numerous rumours in recent days that Leeds United are keen on the player and that a summer transfer could be in the offing.
It was an exciting development for some Leeds fans. Gaich is considered one of Argentina’s brighter talents and made his international debut for Albiceleste last September.
This season, he had scored five goals in 13 games for the Azulgrana and the 6ft 3ins star is clearly a hot prospect.
But whilst there may be several rumours regarding a move from Leeds United, the Argentine club have not yet fielded any enquiries.m
That is according to a report from Olé. The Argentine source states that San Lorenzo are ‘not aware’ of any interest from Leeds United in their star asset.
If Leeds were to make a move for the towering frontman, he currently has a €13 million (£11.6m) release clause in his contract. His agent confirmed as much to CalcioMercato this week, whilst also suggesting San Lorenzo could sell for less amid a need for money this summer. But he also made it clear that Gaich has his sights set on Italy and perhaps the links with Leeds are as simple as Gaich is Argentine, so is Bielsa?
At the moment, it seems Leeds fans can put any idea of Gaich arriving on the back-burner.
But it is certainly one to keep an eye on going forward.
