Everton are planning to offer Sami Khedira an 18-month contract after the Toffees held talks with the midfielder about a move, according to a report from The Sunday People (3/1; page 51).

Khedira looks set to be on the move this month. The Sunday People reports that his £184,000-a-week Juventus contract expires in the summer.

Juve are reportedly desperate to move him off the books in this window. He has not made a single appearance for the Old Lady this season.

And it appears that he may be edging closer to a move to Goodison Park. According to The Sunday People (3/1; page 51), the midfielder was in England this week and held talks with the Toffees.

It is now claimed that he is set to be offered a contract until the end of next season. The deal however, would include an option for a further year.

The People does suggest that Khedira would have to be willing to take a significant pay-cut to secure a move to Merseyside.

TBR View: Khedira should have no problem with Everton offer

As noted by the People, Khedira recently hinted at his desire to play in the Premier League. So if the chance to be reunited with Carlo Ancelotti presents itself, he surely has to take it.

Everton are making progress under the Italian. They were outstanding at the start of the season. And there have been some glimpses of that quality in the weeks since.

The lack of a transfer fee eliminates much of the risk attached to a potential deal for Khedira. He would arrive with a point to prove having seemingly been written off in Turin.
