Report: Ryan Sessegnon to leave on loan if Tottenham sign Sergio Reguilon
Tottenham will reportedly send Englishman Ryan Sessegnon out on loan if they sign target Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.
According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are in advanced talks to sign £25million-rated left-back Reguilon from Spanish giants Madrid and they could now pip Manchester United to his signature.
It is claimed that Jose Mourinho’s side are ‘almost certain’ to loan out Sessegnon if they sign their summer target.
The report adds that there are already a number of suitors interested in him.
Reguilon, 23, is a highly-rated full-back that dazzled last season during a loan spell with Sevilla in La Liga and he’s since returned to Madrid.
Meanwhile, Sessegnon is a versatile left-sided player that has been used as a left-back and a left-winger at Spurs, but he’s struggled to nail down a regular spot in the squad.
The 20-year-old was omitted from the match day squad for the opening game of the league season against Everton and reports suggest he could be exiting on loan.
Sessegnon is a highly-rated talent on the books at Spurs, but it seems unlikely he will get too much game-time this season in the first-team and his chances will be even slimmer if the club manage to complete a deal for talented left-back Reguilon.
A loan exit would be a brilliant step for him in his career, as people often overlook the fact he’s only aged 20 and he needs to be playing regularly somewhere.
His long-term position is still unclear at this stage and a temporary spell at another club should help find that out.
