Report: Ryan Fraser wants to join Everton, but £100k-a-week demands could scupper move

Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser will not play another game for the club with his contract set to expire at the end of the month and, according to The Daily Mail, the Scotland international has his heart set on a move to Everton.

The winger has decided not to sign a temporary extension to his deal in an effort to avoid any injury which may scupper a move to a new club in the summer.

Tottenham and Arsenal have recently been linked with the 26-year-old’s signature. But Everton are the player’s first-choice and, according to the report, he has told teammates at Dean Court as much.

But despite his desire to join Everton, it may fall on deaf ears. A report from The Times suggests Everton are not ‘actively interested’ in Fraser. His £100,000-a-week wage demands are considered too high and Everton want a left-footed right-winger, not a right-footed left-winger, this summer.

It is hard to see what Fraser could offer Everton that Bernard, a previous free-agent arrival, cannot.

Fraser’s form has dipped in 2019-20 compared to last season and it appears this has Everton reluctant to make a move for his services.

However, should he reduce his wage demands, Everton might be tempted to snap up a player of his ability in a transfer market where freebies are going to be like gold dust.

It will certainly be interesting to see if Fraser does indeed get his Everton wish.
